Let's get you some answers
What Can I Expect From Counseling?
While there are no guarantees in counseling, you can expect a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and understood. You will gain insight into patterns and behaviors that may no longer be serving you, be challenged in meaningful ways, and be equipped with practical tools to help you better manage your daily life and relationships—if you are willing to apply them.
How Long Will It Take Until I Feel Better?
There is no exact timeline, as progress depends on each individual and their unique circumstances. Some clients notice improvements quickly, while others experience more gradual growth.
I regularly check in with clients to assess progress and adjust goals as needed. On average, many clients begin to see meaningful progress within 2–6 months, depending on their level of engagement and specific needs.
Do You Take Insurance?
At this time, I do not accept insurance. However, I am currently working toward accepting select EAPs (Employee Assistance Programs), which will provide an additional option for accessing care in the future.
In the meantime, I strive to keep my rates competitive and offer session bundles to make counseling more accessible. Healing is an investment, and for some, it may be helpful to plan and budget in order to take advantage of discounted packages.
Do You Accept EAPs or Loveland Vouchers?
Yes, I accept both.
Please let me know during your consultation if you plan to use either option. I will walk you through the necessary steps for using a Loveland Voucher and confirm whether your EAP is one I currently accept.
What Forms of Payment Do You Accept?
I accept debit and credit card payments and HSA's, which are processed securely through the Sessions application. All payments are charged prior to the start of each session.
Do You Offer Pro Bono or Free Sessions?
No, all services are fee-based.
However, I do offer session bundles at a reduced rate, which can make counseling more affordable. For some clients, setting aside funds over time can be a helpful way to access services at a lower cost.
What Modalities or Interventions Do You Use?
I am an integrative therapist, meaning I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches and tailor them to each client’s needs.
My approach is primarily Person-Centered and Solution-Focused. Common interventions I use include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy, and Insight-Oriented techniques.
Do You Integrate Spiritual Practices Into Sessions?
Yes. I am happy to incorporate faith-based practices at a client’s request, but this is not required. I work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and meet each client where they are.
As a Christian counselor, I may incorporate prayer, scripture, and biblical principles when appropriate. Due to my personal convictions, I do not engage in other spiritual practices outside of this scope.
Do You Offer Couples, Family Counseling, or See Children?
No, I currently provide individual counseling only for clients who are 18 years old and older.
Do You See Men?
Yes.
Men who tend to be a good fit for my approach are those who are seeking counseling on their own terms, who have clear goals, and are open to feedback, engagement, and honest communication.
Do You See Clients Who Are Not Black or African American?
Yes. I work with clients from all backgrounds, while specializing in supporting women of color.
Determining whether we move forward will depend on whether we both feel it is a good fit after the initial consultation.
Do You Prescribe Medication?
No, I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and do not prescribe medication.
If medication support is needed, you may consider:
Contacting your insurance provider for in-network psychiatrists or providers
Scheduling an appointment with your Primary Care Provider (PCP)
Discussing options further during your consultation or sessions
Do You Provide ADHD Assessments or Treatment?
I do not specialize in ADHD or conduct formal diagnostic assessments.
However, ADHD-related concerns can be addressed in therapy. I can support you with skills related to time management, prioritization, emotional regulation, self-esteem, routine building, and thought patterns.
Do You Assign Homework?
Yes—frequently.
Homework is tailored to each client and is designed to deepen insight and support progress toward your goals. Because of my approach, clients who strongly dislike structured work outside of sessions may not find this to be the best fit.
Do You Complete Disability or Workplace Leave Paperwork?
No, I do not complete documentation for Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, FMLA, or Workers’ Compensation.
If this is your primary need, you may want to consult a primary care provider, psychiatrist, or nurse practitioner who offers these services.
